Lapis earrings

Lapis, Egyptian earrings in silver and lapis lazuli

The Lapis earrings are a custom order for the same person, a lover of Ancient Egypt and the deep blue of lapis lazuli, who had previously commissioned the Queen of the Nile necklace.

 

 

To complete the adornment of our Egyptian queen, she wished for a pair of earrings crafted in the same style. We therefore reprised the hammered disc design, a reference to the sun—an essential element of Egyptian mythology and a symbol of the god Ra, the source of life and rebirth.

At its center, we set a faceted lapis lazuli cabochon, whose deep blue hue captivated the Egyptians. This precious stone, sourced primarily from Afghan mines since antiquity, was associated with divinity and wisdom. Its radiance evoked the starry night sky and adorned the jewelry of pharaohs, amulets, and sacred objects. It was notably featured in the famous funerary mask of Tutankhamun, where it symbolized protection and power.

Thus, these earrings are more than just jewelry; they are a tribute to the millennia-old traditions and refined artistry of Ancient Egypt.

 

Metal: plata de ley (925).

Stone: lapis lazuli.

Finish: polished, shiny.

Size: 0.98 in (2.5 cm) in height.
