Dusk inflorescence, nocturnal flower pendant in silver and lapis lazuli

Dusk Inflorescence is part of a series of pendants inspired by the mysterious beauty of the night and the cycle of flowers. It showcases a deep blue lapis lazuli cabochon, sprinkled with fine golden flecks that evoke stars sparkling in a clear night sky.

The stone, cut in an elongated teardrop shape, was designed to resemble a slender flower in the colors of the night, capturing the last fiery rays of sunset before surrendering to darkness. It rests on a slightly larger silver plate, whose wavy edge suggests delicate petals ready to close.

At the top, small silver discs represent the first stars appearing at dusk, while at the base, stylized leaves and additional discs symbolize flowers bending and folding to welcome the night.

The term inflorescence, from the Latin inflorescere (“to bloom”), refers to the harmonious arrangement of flowers along a plant stem—a structure often fractal, revealing the hidden geometry of nature. In certain species, each branch of the main axis, called the rachis, carries a flower via a pedicel, like floral constellations connected in an intricate pattern.

This piece is an ode to the meeting of plant and celestial worlds, a celebration of that suspended moment when light fades and nature prepares for the night, blending softness and mystery.
