Yanagi, meditative pond ring in silver and Willow Creek jasper

The "Yanagi" ring features an oval-shaped Willow Creek jasper, set on an irregularly contoured sterling silver (925) plate. Three small silver spheres enhance the composition, like buds floating on the surface of a quiet pond. This unique jasper displays subtle green variations, ranging from almond to moss, in soft pastel tones that resemble watercolor washes.

The finely crafted band is adorned with delicate stylized flowers, reminiscent of marsh irises. This aquatic plant, often associated with the calm of wetlands, beautifully complements the serene landscape evoked by the stone. Beneath the setting, a small flower-shaped opening has been hand-cut, allowing light to pass through and illuminating the stone from behind—like sunlight filtering through foliage.

The Japanese name "Yanagi," meaning "willow," echoes the natural palette of the jasper and the poetic inspiration behind the piece. One can imagine a weeping willow, its long, flowing branches gently swaying above still water. The organic outline of the setting evokes the shape of a pond, while the tiny silver spheres suggest lily buds about to bloom.
