Dream, Aztec cross earrings in silver and peridot

Sometimes, we perceive a situation not with our physical eyes, but with our inner eyes. Our dreams can highlight or reveal aspects that seem insignificant but are essential for our understanding. These earrings embody this concept of inner vision.

Inspired by the rich iconography of Pre-Hispanic cultures of Mexico, particularly the Aztecs, these earrings feature a motif commonly called the diamond. This motif, found in architecture, textiles, and ceramics, is a rhombus bordered with a fringe of triangles. Interpretations of this motif vary, but among the Huichols, for example, it is known as the "Ojo de Dios" (Eye of God) and is considered a medium through which the gods observe what happens on earth.

We accentuated this eye effect by adding a pupil in the form of a peridot cabochon. The choice of peridot, a green stone, is significant; this color symbolizes hope and nature, reinforcing the connection between the divine element and the earthly world.

To bring life and movement to these earrings, we have added a few dangling elements to our Aztec eye, creating a piece that combines tradition and dynamism.
