Snigill, infinity snail ring in sterling silver and rainbow obsidian

This ring features a fully rounded motif. We named it “Snigill,” which means “snail” in Icelandic, for its beautiful rainbow obsidian cabochon carved in the shape of a snail or spiral. Rainbow obsidian, a volcanic stone with iridescent reflections, catches the light like a nacreous shell and seems to contain a fragment of the cosmos within.

The spiral of the snail shell is one of the natural motifs richest in symbolism. It appears across many cultures, from Celtic traditions to African art, from Asian mandalas to sacred ocean shells. It blends observation of nature, sacred geometry, and spiritual interpretation. The snail spiral becomes both a cosmic symbol (universal order, growth, infinity) and an intimate symbol (protection, meditation, inner journey). It connects the wearer to the cycle of nature and the mystery of the universe, serving as a bridge between microcosm and macrocosm.

The cabochon is deliberately set off-center on the band, with the part evoking the shell’s opening extending outward. This detail suggests that the spiral’s expansion does not stop at the ring’s boundaries but continues infinitely, always evolving. The band itself is adorned with circular, radiating patterns, extending this idea of eternity and energy, like vibrational waves spreading through space.

Snigill is a talisman that invites contemplation of life’s rhythm, offering protection within while opening to the infinity of the world.
