This pendant is a significantly larger version of our classic Magma pendant.

It pays tribute to the unique and intense universe of Magma, the legendary French band that emerged as a pioneering force on the experimental music scene of the 1970s. A true precursor of the Zeuhl genre — a distinctive musical movement blending progressive rock, jazz fusion, contemporary music, ritual trance, and invented chants — Magma carved its place in musical history through an uncompromising artistic vision.

Founded by the visionary Christian Vander — a virtuoso drummer, impassioned vocalist, and bold composer — Magma created a sonic identity like no other. With its powerful, complex, and mesmerizing music, the band developed a monumental body of work told in a fictional language called Kobaïan, centered on an original mythology and the imaginary planet Kobaïa.

The symbol engraved on this pendant faithfully reproduces Magma’s iconic logo: a stylized “M” shaped like a volcano, from which three sharp spikes erupt — like tectonic forces about to burst forth. This striking graphic design, created by Vander himself, conveys the spiritual and creative intensity of the project. It symbolizes not only the raw, solar, and incandescent energy of Magma, but also the inner fire, mystical drive, and quest for transcendence that fuel the entire body of work.
