Farandole under the orange moon, leaf and moon earrings in silver and carnelian

"Farandole under the Orange Moon" is a pair of earrings that weaves a connection between nature, the moon, and the cycles of life, a central theme in many pagan cultures. These earrings recall the first days of autumn, when the harvest is coming to an end and the leaves on the trees take on warm hues of gold, red, and orange before swirling through the air and settling on the ground.

These pieces of jewelry seem to draw their inspiration from the pagan festivals celebrating Samhain, a key moment in the Celtic calendar that marks the end of the harvest and the beginning of the dark season. During these celebrations, the ancients honored both death and rebirth, in keeping with natural cycles.

The moons adorning these earrings represent not only the lunar phases, but also the fluidity of time, the imperceptible changes that, season after season, shape life and the earth. As for the leaves, they evoke vegetation, which, like the lunar cycles, follows an eternal rhythm of death and rebirth.

The carnelian cabochons delicately rest on a silver plate with lobed edges, a nod to the oak leaf.

These earrings recall the dances celebrating the end of the harvest around a gigantic wood fire, before gradually entering the cold winter season.
