Amalthea, greek abundance pendant in silver and peach aventurine

The "Amalthea" pendant is an ode to nature and the generosity of abundance. It showcases a peach-colored aventurine, evoking the warmth of the sun, golden wheat fields, summer fruits, and the wealth of nature. This soft and luminous peach hue symbolizes the gifts of earth and sky, inviting reflection on prosperity.

The pendant features an elegant oval shape, symbolizing the infinity and continuity of life. At the top, a half-sphere engraved with a wheat stalk and small bird silhouettes represents the sun, a source of light and energy. This stylized sun embodies the vital force that nourishes nature and allows harvests to flourish. Birds, freely flying around this celestial body, represent freedom and the cycle of seasons.

Beneath this sun, filigree scrolls coil gracefully, like sheaves of wheat or bouquets of wild plants, symbolizing the union of nature and sky. These scrolls evoke the cornucopia itself, with its generous curves and designs that suggest the richness of life.

The peach aventurine, the centerpiece of the jewelry, is delicately set with small silver prongs. Its warm color illuminates the pendant, enhancing the sense of kindness and fertility.

The name "Amalthea" recalls the cornucopia from Greek mythology. According to legend, Amalthea, initially a divine goat, nourished the young Zeus, who was hidden from Cronus by his mother Rhea. Amalthea's horn, accidentally broken and filled with fruits and flowers, became a symbol of the cornucopia, endlessly pouring out the blessings of nature. In a later version, Amalthea appears as a nymph caring for Zeus and offering him nourishing goat’s milk. In gratitude, Zeus bestowed upon the horn the power to provide all that its bearer desired, consecrating it as an eternal symbol of prosperity.
