Hemera, greek light bracelet in silver, leather, and lemon jade

The Hemera bracelet is made of a beautiful lemon jade set in silver. The setting is intentionally rustic, creating a rougher, more masculine effect, and is worn with a dark leather cord, long enough to wrap around the wrist several times. This rustic setting is characterized by the absence of polishing and an oxidation of the metal, giving it a dark, antique look that enhances its authentic character. The intentionally aged effect evokes antique jewelry, where the metal would acquire a unique depth over time.

The almond-shaped lemon jade cabochon is very luminous and contrasts nicely with the shiny silver. It features a yellow-green hue with white veins, giving it a natural and organic appearance. To create a duality and emphasize this relief, we chose this dark leather, which wraps several times around the arm to form the piece.

This bracelet recalls those imagined to be wrapped around the arm of a male or female character from Antiquity, like a Greek or Roman. That’s why we sought a name for it from Greek mythology.

We chose Hemera, a primordial goddess who represents earthly light and personifies the day. The Greeks separated the concept of light from that of the sun, considering them two distinct entities. Hemera is the daughter of Nyx (Night) and Erebus (Darkness), and she is often associated with Aether (Celestial Light), her husband or brother depending on the version. She embodies the gentle, diffuse light of day that disperses the darkness, marking the transition from night to dawn. This symbolism resonates with the lemon jade, whose bright glow contrasts with the depth of the dark leather and oxidized silver, like an echo of the morning light breaking through the shadow.

The bracelet is made of suede, a very soft, flexible leather that is pleasant to wear. The band width is 0.12 in (0.3 cm), and its thickness is about 1 mm. The slender band allows for easy wrapping around the wrist. Over time, the leather will develop a beautiful patina, gaining flexibility and character while maintaining its soft touch.

The leather bracelet measures 23.62 in (60 cm) in total length. There is also a 1.97 in (5 cm) chain that allows you to attach the clasp at the desired length. It is adjustable to fit your wrist by choosing the appropriate link to fasten it. I made it long enough to adapt to both thin and stronger wrists.

Finish: matte and oxidized for a vintage effect.
